Garden to Table

OKE charity has enabled us to launch our innovative Garden to Table program, which is already making a significant impact on our school community.

The Garden to Table program offers numerous benefits for our students, staff, and the broader community:

  1. Hands-On Learning: Students engage in experiential learning by cultivating and maintaining the gardens. This hands-on approach enriches their understanding of science, math, and environmental studies, making learning both fun and impactful.

  2. Health and Nutrition: The program emphasises the importance of healthy eating. Students learn to grow, harvest, and prepare fresh, nutritious food, fostering lifelong healthy habits and a deeper appreciation for where their food comes from.

  3. Life Skills: Working in the garden teaches essential life skills such as responsibility, teamwork, and patience. Students also gain practical knowledge about sustainability and self-sufficiency.

  4. Community Building: The gardens serve as a communal space where students, teachers, and families can come together. This strengthens our school community and encourages collaboration and shared responsibility.

  5. Environmental Stewardship: By participating in the Garden to Table program, students develop a sense of environmental stewardship. They learn about sustainable practices and the importance of caring for our planet.

To our school community, thank you  for your invaluable support. Together, we are cultivating not just gardens, but a healthier, more connected, and environmentally conscious future for our students.
